The Impact Fund
A MehtaCognition initiative, 2024–2025
For two years, the Impact Fund supported emerging, aspiring, and current independent-school leaders with funding for learning, development, and work they could carry back to their schools.
That two-year giving cycle is complete. Beginning in 2026, this commitment continues within Neti Neti, the family giving and impact-investing initiative created by Nishant and Neeti Mehta.

Why the Impact Fund existed
The Impact Fund began with a simple belief: innovative leaders can come from anywhere, while access to meaningful professional development remains uneven. Its purpose was to give independent-school leaders greater agency in choosing the learning, relationships, and experiences that could help them grow.
That belief was rooted in Nishant's idea of Who-Luck: the often-unseen people whose confidence, generosity, and intervention help shape a life.
A wider home for the work
The Impact Fund reflected Nishant's professional commitment to education and leadership. Neti Neti brings that history together with Nishant and Neeti's personal giving.
The purpose is now wider: children and childhood are at the center; education and health are primary pathways; and the work spans India and the United States. Neti Neti may make nonprofit gifts, invest in aligned for-profit organizations, or contribute time, access, introductions, and other forms of capital when the purpose, people, and intended outcomes align.

Across 2024 and 2025, MehtaCognition directed over US$40,000 toward the development of emerging, aspiring, and current independent-school leaders. The cycle is complete and its use has been reported.

2024
Four fellows received direct support for leadership development and school-based work shaped around their own goals.
2025
The fund supported financial aid for three admitted students in Klingenstein programs at Teachers College at Columbia University.
The Impact Fund is not accepting new applications.
The Impact Fund remains part of MehtaCognition's history. Neti Neti is where the work continues.
